Our 10 year vow renewal in Hawaii

Our celebration of Love on our 10 year Vow renewal on the east coast of Honolulu @ Sandy's beach in Hawaii

Roque and Jacqueline celebrated their 10 years of marriage with a Vow renewal  on the beach in Hawaii at Sandy's Beach . Rainbow plumerias adorned Jacquelines hair with a crown of flowers , also the colorful multi color plumerias matched the bouquet and her Hawaiian lei.
Roque had the Maile tea leaf lei while their son Koa was given a tea leaf lei .
Paul Agung conducted the flow of the ceremony as they exchange leis , said their personal vows of love , pour the unity sand together .

Dance of Love on the Beach

Roque and I both love music and enjoy going to island reggae festivals. We train together and he is also my instructor in several classes I take at the gym. We are both very supportive of one another and build each other up.

We both knew each other when we were teenagers because Roque was friends with my cousin. We only saw each other twice at family parties and never spoke to each other. Fast forward to the future, my dad and brother joined Roque’s family martial arts gym in 2008. I attended a karate promotion for my dad in my early 20’s. Roque was there and I didn’t recognize him. After the promotion I said hi to him, but he seemed very shy. I thought he was cute! I decided to join the gym and take classes and became a member.

Only a few weeks as a member and getting to know him, he invited me to a trip in Tahoe with his friends. The rest was history after that trip in April! My parents also invited him to our family trip to Oahu 3 months after in the summer. Oahu became a very special place to us. He even gave me a promise ring while we were there.

Roque always treated me like a queen. We were only in our mid 20’s and enjoyed life as a young couple. We traveled, trained together, and never really missed a day without seeing each other. We were deeply in love! We got engaged in 2014 in Las Vegas, one of our other favorite cities.

As we decided to plan for our wedding, I always envisioned getting married in Hawaii. However, due to some family members unable to fly that far at that time, we decided to have our wedding on June 6, 2015 at Bellagio in Las Vegas. It was an intimate wedding with our close family and friends. The wedding was amazing and everything I wanted and more! We flew right after our wedding weekend to our honeymoon in Oahu from Las Vegas.

A year later in April 2016, our son Roque Koa was born. He completed our family and is Gods gift to us! Koa is very happy, friendly, and outgoing child!  He doesn’t know yet how he touches people’s lives in a positive and loving way! As he got older, Koa always asked why he wasn’t at our wedding when he would look at our wedding photo. We explained to him that he wasn’t born yet.

As the years went by and knowing our 10 year anniversary was coming up, I decided to plan our wedding vow renewal. Since we couldn’t originally have our wedding in Oahu, we definitely decided to be there this time. We also decided to not tell Koa until we got on the island. He was excited once he found out and finally he was able to be at our wedding!

Grateful to be able to renew our vows in our special place on the island, at the beach with waves crashing and blue skies above! Through thick and thin, ups and downs, we will always have each other’s back. We live an amazing life with our son and looking forward to many more years together! We leave our future in God’s hands knowing he is guiding us and continuing to bless us. We will continue vibin’ and dance like no one is watching!

Thank you,
Jacqueline Rapacon
